Mary & The Violets

Well, the violets are out in bloom once again and how these dainty little flowers have survived all the snow and rain is nothing short of a miracle! I’ve always loved violets. The colour and the perfume just carry you off to some place else. Violets to me are very special flowers and it is only in the last few days that I discovered a link with Mother Mary, for I have, up until now linked them with Jesus. Why?

A bit of a tale here. For those that don’t know I have the gift of clairaudience (I hear beyond the physical) and so it is impossible for me to ignore messages or guidance I receive.

I was walking along the canal side last early Spring, when I heard the message that there was a ‘gift’ for me further on and to keep my eyes open. A short walk further brought me to a carpet of violets ~ the deep violet, pale violet and also some white ones. I’d not seen violets on this particular walk before, but oddly, this year there are even more than ever and for a longer stretch. They obviously like having soggy feet, unlike me. Anyway, back to the tale. I took photos of course, for it was a sight to see and they did indeed lift my heart. The message I received was from Jesus and so, for that reason alone, I associated violets with him.

Now, I discover there is a link between violets and Mother Mary, and so my initial link doesn’t seem so strange as Mother Mary was the Mother of Jesus. So, violets or to give them their Latin name of Viola odorata which if translated means Our Lady of Modesty and of course, Mary is known both for her service to God in being the Mother of Jesus but also for her humble nature and here devotion. It is said that violets first started blooming around the time that the Archangel Gabriel gave Mary the message that she was to have a child, named Jesus.
In colour symbolism or colour therapy, the colour violet relates to protection, devotion and service to others as well as spiritual insight or one might say, psychic gifts.
The other thing I noticed about these lovely blooms is their foliage. Take a look next time. The leaves are a perfect heart shape ~ so I bet that was no accident either. The flowers do tend to hide themselves behind these green hearts, so if you’re not observant you could miss them.
I discovered that there are quite a few superstitions around the violet, and some are funny and some make total sense with my colour therapy hat on.
For instance it is thought that violets may help to heal a broken heart. This I feel is due to violet carrying not only the violet ray, but also the green and the green relates to the heart and perhaps too, Mother Mary comes in here with her unconditional love for us.
Carrying or wearing violets can help keep lower spirits or energies away ~ again that makes sense as violet is a protective colour and probably brings in the protection of the Holy Mother too.
Putting violets (or a drop of essential oil) under your pillow can give you a good night ~ violet has a relaxing effect on the mind.
Now this one made me chuckle a bit and I’ve no idea if it works. Perhaps you can tell me. Wearing violets on your head will stop you getting drunk! My guess is, that if you walked into a bar sporting a headdress of violets you’d not get served or at best, you’d get very odd looks!
Violets are apparently a great ingredient in love potions ~ not sure about this one either. I’m not one for making potions despite working with essential oils. Umm, wonder if I should give it a try?
So that is me and violets and how they link to Mother Mary and, in my case Jesus. It is quite poignant too, as I’ve recently been blessed with a connection to Mother Mary and I add now a painting, which I channelled. I’m not known for being an artist and, the end result has me astonished. I definitely couldn’t have done it without the help of an Ascended Master. I can draw flowers, but never faces and, the face is just as I ‘see’ Mother Mary.

How do you see her? Do you sense her presence? Do you see her as fair skinned with blue eyes, just as in many images? That’s an interesting one I think. I’d love to know how other people see, or what they think….
To round off my rather wordy blog, I finish now, with a poem channelled to me from Mother Mary ~ which will go into the book I’m currently working one but which I share today ~
Violets, the colour of royalty, religion, of Me.
Look into the violet and what do you see?
What do you sense? What do you smell or hear?
Don’t ignore it, there’s nothing to fear,

For the flowers hold messages just for you.
Take time to connect with the realm of flowers ~ do.
Just quiet your mind and open your heart,
For these beautiful flowers are all a part

Of what God made, made for your and Mankind.
Take time with the flowers and you will find
And feel the connection with God and with all.
Wake up and smell the flowers, is my call.

Not just the violets, but each and, every flower.
Each one has its own particular power.
The power to communicate messages to you.
Here’s how to do it. I’ll give you a clue.

Quiet now, empty your mind.
Be gentle with the blooms, be kind.
Look into its heart, connect and, just say,
For the Highest Good, what is your message this day?

This is my message to you this day.
Remember the flowers can help show you the way.
They can uplift, they can heal and much, much more.
So, come now and open this particular door

To love and guidance, just for you.
Anyone can do this, including you too
Who reads these words within this book.
Go now, amongst the flowers and take a look.

A look much further, much deeper than before.
Learn and experience the knowledge that is Flower Lore.
